Des Smyth carded a level par 70 in the second round of the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open to move into a share of seventh place, as Sir Bob Charles fell back into the chasing pack after the 76 year old’s amazing first round 66, writes the European Senior Tour.
Swiss bliss as Smyth equals career low 62
Des Smyth equalled his career low round on tour when he closed with an eight under 62 to finish seventh in the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open in Switzerland.
The 58-year old Bettystown legend - who shot a final round 10 under 62 to finish third in the 1990 Austrian Open - had an eagle, seven birdies and one bogey to scorch up the leaderboard and earn €9,000.
