Harrington reflects on Major merit

Padraig Harrington kissed the Order of Merit title goodbye but reflected on a magical double Major winning season at Valderrama.

The Dubliner finished 10 shots behind winner Soren Kjeldsen in the final edition of the Volvo Masters but was still beaming as Robert Karlsson became the first Swedish winner of the Harry Vardon Trophy.

Harrington wary despite six-shot Irish PGA lead

Padraig Harrington is taking nothing for granted despite carving out a massive six-shot lead in the Ladbrokes.com Irish PGA Championship at The European Club.

The Dubliner is just one round away from lifting his fifth domestic title in the space of a decade after one-under par 70 left him on level par going into today's final round.

Born again Walton ready for Open challenge

Philip Walton has the fire in his belly again after surviving a marathon day at The European Club to share the clubhouse lead in the Ladbrokes.com Irish PGA Championship.

After a 12-hour day on the pristine Brittas Bay Links, the 46-year-old Dubliner confessed that he is looking forward to feeling the “tingle” of competition in his nerves ends again after completely losing his desire for the game in the wake of his stressful Ryder Cup heroics at Oak Hills in 1995.

Harrington gets Irish PGA blasting

Padraig Harrington almost got more than he bargained for as he came through nightmare conditions to share the clubhouse lead with veteran Eamonn Darcy in the weather-delayed Ladbrokes.com Irish PGA Championship.

The defending champion arrived at The European Club hoping for the toughest possible conditions in his warm-up for his Open Championship defence at Royal Birkdale next week.

But he wasn’t counting on nine holes of torrential rain followed by another nine holes of fog-delayed action that eventually added up to a four-over par 75 that took him eight hours and 15 minutes to complete.
