It's Cannon v O'Flaherty for South title
Laytown and Bettystown's Robbie Cannon will face Cork's Gary O'Flaherty in this afternoon's final of the South of Ireland Amateur Open at Lahinch.
The 30 year old Dubliner, who considered withdrawing from the championship earlier this week because of illness, beat Castletroy's Eamonn Haugh 3 and 1 to reach his first provincial final.
O'Flaherty, who is a sales manager for Wilson Golf, will also be bidding for his first championship success.
The 34-year old beat his close friend Pat Murray, the reigning Irish Close champion, by 2 and 1.

Robert Cannon (Laytown and Bettystown) bt Eamonn Haugh (Castletroy) 3/1;
Gary O’Flaherty (Cork) bt Pat Murray (Limerick) 2/1.
