Grant plans weekend attack after wobble

But 35-year old former professional footballer vowed to go on the attack at the weekend as he followed his opening 67 with a three over 73 to share 15th place on level par.
“Tough day today made two doubles from beside the green in two,” Grant tweeted. “Rough here is brutal. Two birdies coming in, still only five off lead, 2 days to attack.”
Spain’s Carlos Aguilar took over at the top when he fired a four under 66 to lead by two shots on five under par at Golf Blue Green de Pléneuf Val André in Brittany.
After a superb round of 64 former Ryder Cup player Peter Baker of England, who won the inaugural event in 2007, is in the chasing pack on three under par alongside Sweden’s Jens Dantorp and Finn Mikko Korhonen.
Despite a seven on his card, Dantorp signed for a stunning round of 63 early in the day to surge from tied 75th overnight into a share of second place.
Ballyliffin’s Brendan McCarroll also shot a 73 to fall back to tied 40th on three over with Ballymena’s Chris Devlin making four over par cut (144) on the mark after a 71.
Late bogeys saw Richard Kilpatrick (69), David Higgins (72) and Niall Kearney (72) all miss the four over par cut by one while Cian McNamara and Jonny Caldwell finished well down the field after second rounds 81s.
