Holland goes low in Carlow

Castle’s Daniel Holland was the early pacesetter in the Midlands Senior Scratch Cup at Carlow.

The Dubliner opened with a level par 70 to lead by two strokes from Malahide’s Alan Hogan, Conor O’Rourke of Naas, Portmarnock’s Geoff Lenehan and Knock’s Nicky Grant.

Defending champion Jack Pierse of Grange had a disappointing 77.
