Italy's Parco di Roma head defending champions Clube de Golfe de Vilamoura on a count back (discarded score) after both clubs posted six under par total of 138.

Enrico di Nitto shot 68 and world amateur No 6 Renato Paratore  a 70 with Michele Cea's 72  discarded.

In the individual standings, Di Nitto is tied for the lead with Vilamoura's Vitor Lopes on four under with Dawson is the best of the Irish, tied for ninth after his level par round.

Torrential rain flooded the course and forced played to be suspended on Thursday, which meant the opening round was not completed until today.

With snow forecast for mid-afternoon on Saturday, the event has been reduced from 54 to 36 holes with a shotgun start for the final round.
