The Ulsterman, who was one clear of Greystones' Alan Condren with a round to play, had three birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey six at the second (4th on the traditional course) to win by two from Irish Mid-Amateur champion Gary O'Flaherty (73) on three over 216.
O'Flaherty had a great chance to take the title but bogeyed the 16th and 18th.
Hermitage's Alan Dowling was third on 220, also after a 73, with Condren fourth on 221 following a 77.
