Mini tours: Grant best in Girona, Irish cut in Malaga
Stephen Grant added a one under 69 to his opening 70 and remained tied 15th with a round to play in the ECCO Tour event at PGA Catalunya Resort near Girona.
The former footballer did well to post a two under 70 on the tough Stadium Course on Tuesday but had just three birdies against two bogeys on the easier Tour course in the second round.
The Birr native is three under par and seven shots behind Sweden's Felix Fihn, who shot a superb 66 on the Stadium to lead by one on 10 under from Norway's Eirik Tage Johansen with Swedish amateur star Marcus Kinhult third on eight under. Scores
Headfort's Brian Casey shot a 68 on the Tour Course to move up to tied 17th on two under but the rest of the Irish missed the cut with 18-year old amateur David Carey six over and Mike Kelly 16 over.
