Brendan McCarroll shrugged off a neck injury to remain on the fringes of contention but Stephen Grant lost focus after a lightning start and missed the cut on the Alps Tour in Spain
Ballyliffin pro McCarroll was level for the day after six holes of the Alps de las Castillas but played the last 12 in five under to post a five under 67.
At eight under, he's tied for 23rd, eight shots behind leader Jesus Legarrea of Spain, who followed a 67 with an 11 under 61 at Golf Valdeluz near Guadalajara to lead by two shots 16 under par.
5 under today for 2nd round of Alps Tour event in Golf Valdeluz but have picked up a neck injury. Fingers crossed it's gone by tomorrow! :(

Grant started the day on one-over after a 73 but having raced to eight under for the day through 11 holes thanks to six birdies and an eagle, he bogeyed the 13th and 16th and doubled the 17th, carding a 68 to miss the six under par cut by three shots.
Taught I was going to go really low today,8under through 12,but that's the problem,started thinking😁🔫boom 4 dropped shots😤,shot (-4)#IStink
