O'Briain tops in Delgany but Brady extends Order of Merit lead
Old Conna's Neil O'Briain edged out Clontarf's Eamonn Brady and Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort's Graeme Dunlea by a single shot at Friday's Delgany Pro-Am.
With a shotgun start in operation, O'Brian started his round at the seventh with a par, birdied the eighth and dropped a shot at the ninth. He started the back nine with a birdie at the par five 10th, dropped a shot at the 11th but then birdied the 13th, 15th and 18th to go out in three under 32. T
urning for home he parred his opening three holes, picked up another birdie at the par four fourth but then closed out his round with a dropped shot at the sixth.
Brady guided his team of Chris Wojnar, Frank Kane and Eamonn Fox to victory in the team event with 95 points.
Brady's second place edges him further ahead in the Order of Merit race. He now has a 2000 point lead over Waterville's David Higgins.
