Brady powers to Flogas victory at Knightsbrook
Eamonn Brady produced a strong closing finish to claim the Flogas Pro-Am title at the Knightsbrook Hotel Spa & Golf Resort.
The in-form Clontarf professional made it three wins for the season with a four under par round of 68 in blustery conditions at the Co Meath venue.
With a shot-gun start in operation, the 41-year-old began his round at the ninth with a solid par. He dropped a shot at the 10th, but hit back with three birdies in the next four holes to get to two under for his round.
A double-bogey at the par four 15th brought him back down to earth but a birdie at the 18th got him back under par again and he flourished over the closing stretch, added further birdies at the first, fourth and sixth.
His four under par round gave him a one shot victory over young Belvoir Park professional Chris Carvill with Graeme Dunlea (Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort) a shot further back on two under par.
The pro-am prize was won by Nigel Howley with 84pts ahead of Simon Thornton with 83pts.
The next event on the PGA in Ireland schedule is the Malahide Pro-Am on June 5.
