Gary Hurley came through Q-School's First Stage and next week's it's the turn of Gavin Moynihan. Today, Paul Dunne and Jack Hume play their final rounds in First Stage. Cormac Sharvin is remaining amateur.

Walker Cup heroes Paul Dunne and Jack Hume are one round away from making it to November's Second Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School in Spain.

Rookie professional Dunne —the joint 54-hole leader at The Open in July— and Naas amateur Hume shot three under 69s on the third round of their First Stage Section B qualifier at Ebreichsdorf Golf Club in Austria and share 10th spot on eight under par. Austria Scores

Denmark’s Kasper K Estrup shot a nine under par 63 to lead at at 12 under par overall alongside American Dodge Kemmer, who signed for a 71 on day three.

Fifty-five players made the cut at three over par or better, and the top 21 players and ties will make it through to the Second Stage, which will be played across four Spanish venues in November.

Meanwhile, in the other Section B qualifier, at Collingtree Park in England, play was halted just before 7pm due to darkness, with most players still to complete their third rounds. Collingtree scores

Heavy rain on the first day, which led to delays, has had a knock-on effect. Round three will be resumed early on Friday, with the fourth and final round starting straight after.

Reeve WHitson is tied 36th on three over after two rounds — 78 , 69 — with Peter McGibney (77 71) a shot further back alongside Clontarf's Eamonn Brady (72 76).

Rickie Weldon posted a third round 78 to be six over with Ciaran Boggan (77) 12 over while JD Guiney retired.
