Quartet share first place at Birr Pro-Am

David Higgins, Damien McGrane, Noel Murray and John Dywer shared first place at the Birr Pro-Am sponsored by Grant Engineering on Friday.
The quartet carded rounds of two under par 68 at the Co Offaly venue to edge out Michael McDermott (Pure Golf Leopardstown) by a single shot.
McGrane, fresh from a record breaking performance at the New Ross Pro-Am, made a stunning start to his round, collecting five birdies in his opening eight holes but he couldn't maintain the momentum on the back nine.
Brian McElhinney (North West GC) collected the team prize leading his amateur players to victory with 93 points.
