Ireland were already guaranteed promotion make to Division One by winning their semi-final but they finished the job on Saturday, beating Slovakia 5.5-1.5 in the final of the European Boys’ Team Championship Division 2 in the Czech Republic.

The foursomes pairings of Joh Brady and Kevin LeBlanc and John Murphy and Mark Power both win comfortably before singles wins Hugh O’Hara, LeBlanc and Murphy and a half for John Fahy completed a comprehensive win.

Iceland beat Switzerland 6-1 to finish third.
