Magill gets hot to take Munster U16 title at Roscrea

East Clare’s Eoin Magill carded a one-under 70 to capture the Munster Boys Under 16 Championship in fine style at a hot and humid Roscrea Golf Club.
The day began with a two-hour fog delay but Magill wasted no time once he hit the course, opening his title challenge with birdies at the first and par-five second
He bogeyed the fifth and sixth to fall back to level and birdied the eighth to turn on one-under. Then, after getting to two-under with a birdie four at the 12th, he bogeyed the 13th before parring his way to victory with the only sub-par score of the day.
Conditions were fine but humid when play got underway on a golf course that as presented in immaculate condition.
Galway Bay’s Luke Cunningham, Limerick’s Lucas Lyons and Moyola Park’s Corey Scullion shot level par 71’s.
Cunningham took second place on the countback while Lyons took the best under 15 prize.
