McKibbin, Carey and Hurley start well at Korn Ferry Tour Q-School
Holywood’s Tom McKibbin is clearly going places and he gave another example of his talent when he made an eagle and nine birdies in a 10-under 62 to lead after the opening round of his Korn Ferry Tour Q School Stage One qualifier at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Arizona.
The Newtownabbey star leads by three strokes in his bid to make the top 20 and ties who progress to next month’s second stage. Scores
Meanwhile, in Florida, David Carey and Gary Hurley are well-positioned after the first round of their qualifier at Orange County National in Florida.
Carey opened with a four-under 67 to share 11th place, three shots off the lead with Hurley tied 2t5th after a 69 at a venue the top 21 and ties will qualify. Scores
Eoin Leonard and Devin Morley gave it a go last week at Kinderlou Forest in Valdosta, Georgia but were far off the mark.
