Dunbar with the St Andrews Links Trophy

A 68 from Alan Dunbar helped Ireland move up to eighth place in the European Nations Cup at Sotogrande.

Paul Cutler shot 71 and Pat Murray 72 as Ireland totalled 653 for three rounds to trail leaders England by a massive 31 strokes.

England leads by 19 strokes on 622 from Italy with Germany, Denmark and France 22 shots behind on 644.

In the individual standings, Italy’s Nino Bertasio fired a 64 to share the lead with England’s Chris Paisley on 207 with Tommy Fleetwood and Matthew Haines just a shot further back.

Dunbar and Cutler are the best of the Irish in joint 16th place on 217 with Murray tied 43rd on 224.

Dara Lernihan shares 48th place on 225 after a 73 on Friday.
