John Kelly topped the leaderboard at the Bunclody Golf and Fishing Club Pro-Am.
The St Margaret's professional, who finished tied for 58th at the Irish Open, carded a three under 69 to lead the field at the Co Wexford venue.
The 42-year-old went to the turn in one under 36, with birdies at six and eight offset by a bogey at the par three seventh. Further birdies followed at the 10th and 14th as he came home in two under 33.
Brendan McGovern (Headfort), Ian Kerr (Carlow Golf Range), Niall Kearney (Royal Dublin) and Enda Maguire (Dundalk GC) finished a shot behind Kelly on two under. Maguire's card showed only four pars in a remarkable round that mixed in eight birdies and six bogeys.
The team event was won by Liam Bowler with 92pts.
