Callaghan wins inaugural Craddock Trophy

Castle Dargan's Patrick Callaghan earned a place in history as the inaugural winner of the Craddock Trophy at Malahide Golf Club.

The prize for the winner of the Irish Boys Under 13 Amateur Open Championship was earned by Callaghan by virture of a round of 76, the six-handicappper faring best in testing conditions on the immaculate Malahide layout.

It was good enough for a two-shot victory over Dundalk's Josh Mackin, with two other Castle Dargan players, Daragh Connolly and Sean Carroll, finishing third and fourth respectively.

Muskerry's Jack Egan rounded off the top-five.
