Ireland's senior men face England as the senior ladies take on France in today's semi-finals of their respective European Senior Amateur Team Championships.

With the first two days suspended due to a waterlogged course, just one of the scheduled two strokeplay qualifying rounds was possible in the ladies event at Gut Altentann in Austria.

But holders Ireland qualified fourth to make Flight A with Suzanne Corcoran and Pat Doran shooting six over 73s, Laura Webb 74, Carol Wickham 75, Gertie McMullen 78 and Sheena McElroy 80 and take on France in the first semi-final with the winners to face England or Sweden.

Ireland are also defending the men's championship at Sierra Golf Club in Poland and having qualified in third spot, six shots behind Sweden, they beat Italy 4-1 in Thursday's quarter-finals, the squad formed by Adrian Morrow, Tom Cleary, Michael Quirke, Arthur Pierse, Maurice Kelly and John Mitchell meet England today.

The winners will then face Sweden or Scotland in Saturday's final.
