County Sligo 16th in European Men's Club Trophy
County Sligo finished 16h as France's Golf St Germain en Laye clinched wire-to-wire win in the 2016 European Men's Club Trophy in Portugal.
After two days, all looked as if the three Frenchmen would prevail comfortably at Aroeira Golf Club.
However, the final day was filled with excitement and Golf St Germain edged the tight race for the trophy by one shot on 15 under par.
Scotland's Balmore Golf Club started an impressive comeback led by Chris Maclean who recorded six birdies on the last ten holes.
The players from Balmore GC took home the silver medal and Germany's GC Hubbelrath placed third, four shots behind the leaders.
The Scot Chris Maclean and the German Nicolai von Dellingshausen tied for first place in the individual ranking at 208 strokes, 8-under par.
County Sligo finished on 15 over par with Ruairi O'Connor and TJ Ford tied 35th in the individual standings on 10 over par with David Brady 53rd on 16 over.
Next year's European Men's Club Trophy will be played from October 26-28 but the venue is still to be announced.
