Seamus Power

West Waterford's Seamus Power is about to be handed an invitation for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open  at The K Club in three weeks' time, we're informed.

And it appears he may get there in decent form after he opened with a three under par 69 to share fifth place in the clubhouse in the Web.com Tour's United Leasing & Finance Championship in Indiana.

The 29-year old, who is ranked 47th in the Web.com Tour money list with $23,733 from six starts, went out in 32 at Victoria National Golf Club and picked up another shot at the sixth (his 15th) to be five under.

But while he finished bogey—double bogey—birdie he's just four shots behind clubhouse leader Bhavik Patel of the US whose 65 left him three ahead of Greg Chalmers. Ryan Armour and Brandon Hagy.
