Webb five clear in Senior Ladies’ British Open
Ireland International Laura Webb will take a five stroke lead into the final round of the Senior Ladies’ British Open Amateur Championship at Caldy Golf Club in Liverpool.
Tied for the lead with Finland’s Minna Kaarnalahti starting the day, she shot a one under 72 as he playing partner slumped to an 83 and a share of 12th on 154, 11 shots off the pace.
At three under par, Webb is five ahead of defending champion Julie Brown from Trentham who added a 75 to her opening 73.
Last year’s runner up, Irish Senior Women’s Open champion and last year’s runner up, Gertie McMullen, is 12 behind on nine over after rounds of 79 and 77.
The cut fell at 14 over 160 with Canada’s Alison Murdoch making it with nothing to spare as Donabate’s Pat Doran missed out by three after an 81.
