Irish struggle in third tier tours

Ronan Mullarney made an eagle two and four birdies in a four under 68 to go into the final round seven shots off the lead in the La Ciagle Golf Open in Tunisia.

The Galway man is tie for 11th on one-under par behind Spain’s Rocco Repetto who shot 70 to lead by a shot from Italy’s Filippo Bergamaschi on eight under.

Robert Moran is 27th on three over after a 72 but the rest of the Irish missed the four over par cut.

John Murphy bogeyed the last and missed out by one after a 72 while Michael Young (77) finished on six over with Hugh Foley (76) on nine over.

At the Clutch Pro Tour’s La Vie Masters in Oman, Robert Brazill shot 73 to go into the third and final round seven shots behind David Langley.

He was on six under with James Sugrue (72) five under.

John Ross Galbraith was one under after a 74 with Paul McBride (73) three over.

Marc Boucher (72) was three over and Brandon St John (77) four over while Mark Power (76) missed the cut on seven over.
